Julie Hockin SOFA

Julie Hockin has been on a life-long odyssey exploring life through visual images. Her first love was pencil drawing, closely followed by miniature portraits. She has worked on mother of pearl, agate, and other semi- precious stones, creating jewellery from her miniature designs. She was made a member of the Hilliard Society of Miniaturists. Julie moved on designing and selling bookmarks at craft markets in her beloved Cornwall. Linking up with Henry Roberts, they formed a company to market The Julie Hockin Collection of gift stationery, greetings cards and prints.
Many of Julie's well known works depict wildlife and pets, and her loving depictions of cats gained her membership of the Society of Feline Artists.
As time went by, demand for larger scale work led to A3 designs, and her techniques changed to soft, misty, wet-in-wet watercolour backgrounds, with detailed subject matter calling on her skill in miniatures.
In her 30 year odyssey, Julie has exhibited with the Royal Miniature Society, the Hilliard Society, the Society of Wildlife Artists, and the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery in London. She is in demand to stage one woman shows with most galleries within Cornwall.
Julie has returned to her first love of coloured pencil drawing, has become a member of the UK Coloured Pencil Society. She would be delighted to capture a drawing of your beloved pet for you to treasure for ever.
